What is a Powwow?

The powwow is a modern celebration that can be seen within many Native American nations. All year-round, powwows are put on in the United States and Canada. Each event is made up of singers and dancers that wish to come together to express their culture through music and dancing. Modern powwows pull elements from many native nations around the continent, so every region might do something a little different. The one thing all of them have in common is sharing cultures.

Iron Hill Powwow has become our event to recognize the past, present, and future of Native America, to be in line with our mission, and give acknowledgement to the first people who were caretakers of Delaware and the tristate area.
